The Definition

rarest pour /rarest pȯr/ · noun

The finite expression of one exceptional whiskey barrel, preserved as it exists at one moment in time.

Rarest Pour is a membership-only American whiskey brand specializing in limited single-barrel bourbon, rye and American single malt whiskey. Membership is complimentary and subject to approval.

Every barrel matures differently. Grain, water, wood, climate, warehouse location and changing seasons shape a character that cannot be duplicated. Even barrels filled with the same spirit on the same day can emerge with remarkably different personalities.

Large releases often blend many barrels to achieve consistency. Rarest Pour takes the opposite approach. When we discover a barrel with the depth, structure and individuality to stand on its own, we preserve its character in one finite release.

We do not blend away its individuality. We do not attempt to make the next release taste the same. Once the final bottle is sold, the original whiskey is gone forever.

That is the Rarest Pour.

OUR STORY

For Those Who Prefer the Remarkable to the Readily Available

The world already has enough whiskey designed to be everywhere.

Rarest Pour was created for the opposite: exceptional spirits that may exist only once, in quantities too small for the mass market and with stories too interesting for the bottom shelf.

We have always been drawn to the bottles that require a little effort to find, the private selection tucked behind the bar, the experimental blend that never reaches national distribution, and the extraordinary cask a craft distiller has been quietly waiting to share.

That fascination became Rarest Pour.

One Barrel. One Moment. Never Repeated.

No two barrels mature exactly alike. Wood, climate, location, time and the angels’ share leave an individual signature on every cask.

When we discover an exceptional barrel, we do not ask how to reproduce it by the thousands. We ask how to preserve what makes it singular.

A Rarest Pour release might be a remarkable single-barrel bourbon, a bold rye at barrel strength, an American single malt from an emerging distiller, a customized small batch, or a blend assembled specifically for our members.

Some releases may produce 250 bottles. Others considerably fewer. Each is individually numbered, offered in limited quantities and retired permanently when the final bottle is claimed.

Once it is gone, there is no second production run. That is the point.

Beyond the Usual Bottle Shop

We work with independent and craft distillers, barrel owners, blenders and fellow obsessives to uncover spirits that deserve a more thoughtful audience.

That may mean selecting an unusually expressive cask, developing a custom proof, creating a members-only blend or collaborating with a distiller on something that would never make sense for mass distribution.

We are not interested in making another bottle available everywhere.

We are interested in bringing something memorable to a select group of people who will appreciate why it exists.

A Membership Built Around the Table

Rarest Pour is not trying to build the largest whiskey club. We would rather build the most interesting table.

Membership is complimentary, but it is not automatic. Applications are reviewed because genuinely limited releases require a genuinely limited community.

We are looking for enthusiasts, collectors, generous hosts and curious newcomers who appreciate craftsmanship, enjoy discovering what others have overlooked and understand that the best bottle is often the one with the best story, not necessarily the biggest advertising budget.

Approved members receive access to limited releases, private allocations, special collaborations and the rare pours we believe are worth sharing.

Whiskey First, But Curiosity Has No Borders

Our story begins with bourbon, rye and American single malt, but it may not end there.

As Rarest Pour grows, we may explore extraordinary tequila and other agave spirits, aged rum, brandy or any category in which craft, rarity and character matter more than volume.

The category may change. The standard will not.

We will continue searching for spirits that are difficult to find, impossible to reproduce and worthy of the people invited to enjoy them.

If you would rather discover the bottle everyone asks about than order the bottle everyone already knows, request a place at the Rarest Pour table.

Our Philosophy

Every Selected Barrel Is a Work of Art

A work of art is not exceptional because it can be endlessly reproduced. Its meaning comes from its singularity. We believe an extraordinary barrel deserves the same respect.

01

Discovered

We seek barrels with remarkable character and an identity all their own.

02

Selected

Only barrels capable of standing alone can carry the Rarest Pour name.

03

Preserved

Each chosen barrel is bottled as its own finite edition.

04

Numbered

Every bottle records its exact place within the release.

05

Archived

Every edition receives a permanent place in the brand’s history.

06

Never Repeated

When the last bottle is gone, the release is complete forever.

The Barrel Determines the Edition

200–255 Typical 750 mL bottles per release

How many bottles come from one whiskey barrel?

A Rarest Pour barrel will typically produce approximately 200 to 255 bottles. The precise quantity depends on the whiskey remaining after maturation and the proof at which it is bottled.

What is the angel’s share?

During maturation, some whiskey naturally evaporates through the oak. Time, climate, humidity and warehouse location all influence how much remains when the barrel is ready.

Why does barrel strength yield fewer bottles?

Barrel-strength whiskey receives little or no water to lower its proof. Reducing the same whiskey to 90 proof can produce more bottles, but Rarest Pour chooses the proof that best expresses the barrel, not the proof that maximizes quantity.

The Collector Principle

A Complete Series Begins With What Cannot Be Replaced

A numbered whiskey series creates a documented sequence with a permanent beginning, progression and ending.

The Macallan Edition Series offers a well-known example. It concluded with Edition No. 6, creating a closed series of six numbered releases. Rarest Pour applies the principle at an individual-barrel scale, with most editions consisting of only 200 to 255 bottles.

Every sold-out release remains permanently documented, allowing collectors to follow the complete chronology from the first edition onward.

Questions, Answered

About Rarest Pour

What is Rarest Pour?

Rarest Pour is a limited-edition American whiskey brand offering individually numbered single-barrel bourbon, rye and American single malt releases. Most editions consist of approximately 200 to 255 bottles and are permanently retired after selling out.

Is Rarest Pour only a bourbon brand?

No. Rarest Pour offers Kentucky straight bourbon, straight rye and American single malt whiskey selected from individual barrels.

How many bottles are in a Rarest Pour release?

Most releases contain approximately 200 to 255 standard 750 mL bottles. Actual yield depends on maturation, the angel’s share and bottling proof.

What is single-barrel whiskey?

Single-barrel whiskey is bottled from one individual barrel rather than created by combining whiskey from multiple barrels. Because every barrel matures differently, each release has its own character and finite bottle count.

What is barrel-strength whiskey?

Barrel-strength whiskey is bottled at or close to the proof at which it leaves the barrel. Because little or no water is added to lower the proof, it frequently produces fewer bottles.

What is American single malt whiskey?

American single malt whiskey is mashed, distilled and aged in the United States, distilled entirely at one American distillery from 100% malted barley, aged in qualifying oak barrels and bottled at no less than 80 proof.

What happens when a release sells out?

The whiskey is permanently retired and added to the Rarest Pour Archive. It will not be recreated or released as a second batch.

Is membership required?

Yes. Only approved Rarest Pour members may join a release waitlist or purchase an available allocation. Membership is complimentary, but applications are reviewed and approval is not automatic.

How do I apply for membership?

Complete the private membership application with your name, email address, postal address, referral information and reasons for joining. Every application is reviewed individually, and applicants receive a decision by email.

How can I buy Rarest Pour whiskey?

First submit a complimentary membership application. Once approved, members may join release waitlists and request available allocations in eligible states.

Does approved membership guarantee a bottle?

No. Membership makes you eligible to join waitlists and request allocations, but bottles cannot be guaranteed because every edition is extremely limited.

Does Rarest Pour ship to every state?

Availability depends on state and local laws and the capabilities of licensed retail and fulfillment partners. Eligibility is confirmed before checkout.
